1,000 Area-School Children Helped in 5 Days
While Give the Gift of Sight Foundation is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, last year was the first North American mission held in this city. Over the course of the 5-day clinic, exactly 1,000 school-aged children from around the area were given eye exams and new glasses for those requiring them.
"I travel all over North America and the world leading our Gift of Sight missions, so it was really great to give back to those in need right here in our community," said Janet Duke, Mission Manager for Gift of Sight.
Public and private schools from greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky participated in this mission.
Gift of Sight will be visiting Cincinnati again in 2008, along with 12 other communities across the U.S. and Puerto Rico. See where all 20 missions will be held.
