Greg Hare

New Executive Director for Gift of Sight

Greg Hare has recently been named the new Executive Director of Give the Gift of Sight. Since he began with Luxottica Retail eleven years ago on the brand side of the business, Greg has made Gift of Sight a part of his career and has become quite a leader in Gift of Sight programs.

Greg’s first role in Gift of Sight was as a school captain during Cycle of Sight, our Cincinnati-based in-school screening program. He was so taken with this program that he led the way in expanding it to include Northern Kentucky schools and has become a “master trainer” of screening participants. In 2001, Greg helped create the Par for Sight golf tournament in Cincinnati, OH and now sits on the tournament steering committee. He has participated in two international missions to Mexico in 2002 and Thailand in 2005 and is scheduled to go on his third mission to Bulgaria in July. Greg has also been a Recycle Challenge leader for his department.

“I wouldn’t be the leader that I am today without the developmental experiences that participation in the many Gift of Sight programs has provided me,” said Greg. “I am excited and humbled to be chosen to lead the heart of our company.”

Greg began with Luxottica Retail in the LensCrafters product group. He then moved into the merchandising group working on LensCrafters, Sunglass Hut and Pearle Vision. He comes to Gift of Sight from his position as Associate Vice President, Pearle Merchandising.

“Having worked on a variety of Luxottica Retail brands, I have a broad range of marketing, merchandising and branding experience,” said Greg. “I look forwarding to sharing my expertise to grow and enhance programs and inspire those who work and volunteer for Gift of Sight.”

Greg is a graduate of Miami University of Ohio where he received his Bachelor’s of Science in Business Administration degree majoring in Marketing.   He began is career in department store retailing with Federated Department Stores and Mercantile Stores.  He resides in northern Kentucky with his wife, Tracy and two children, Zack (15) and Samantha (11).
