In 2008, Give the Gift of Sight introduced North American Clinics. Modeled after our international missions, Luxottica Group volunteers at these temporary clinics provide free eye exams and new eyewear to as many as 1,500 underprivileged people per clinic week. As of December 2007, North American Clinics have helped more than 65,000 students.
In 2008, we've scheduled 20 weeks of North American Clinics in Cincinnati, OH; Houston, TX; San Antonio, TX; Richmond, VA; Puerto Rico, Philadelphia, PA; Chicago, IL; San Francisco, CA; Hartford, CT; San Diego, CA; Fishkill, NY (Fresh Air Fund Summer Camps); Los Angeles, CA; Cleveland, OH and Detroit, MI.
