Community Outreach Programs
Gift of Sight Outreach engages volunteer associates from Luxottica Retail to take their skills to those in need in the community who are unable to come in to the stores. Through this program, volunteer employees, optometrists and Ophthalmologists provide free vision screenings at schools and health fairs and eyeglass adjustments and repairs in nursing homes and shelters. Outreach is our biggest Gift of Sight North America program with more than 200,000 people helped annually.
In-Store Programs:
Throughout the year, doctors and employees from participating Luxottica Retail stores (including LensCrafters, Pearle Vision, Sears Optical and Target Optical) provide free eye exams and reduced-priced eyewear to recipients pre-selected by local charities based on visual and financial need.
- OnSite Voucher Program — Charities and schools select candidates based on visual and financial need to receive vouchers good for new glasses at participating area Luxottica Retail stores. The OnSite Voucher Program helped 64,650 people in 2005.
- Special Price/Combo Voucher— Local charities purchase and distribute prepaid vouchers those in need. These vouchers are good for one pair of prescription eyeglasses at any participating Luxottica Retail store. Special Price/Combo Vouchers helped 12,093 people in 2005.
