Donors Sighted!

REM in San Diego        In May, Michelle Harris, Purchasing Manager, REM Eyewear, served on a North American mission in San Diego.  REM has been involved in missions for the past three years.  Michelle recalled a highlight when a busload of protective custody children arrived at clinic.  "They were so scared when they walked in," Michelled explained.  Michelle and teamates made the kids feel comfortable through smiles and jokes and by the end of the day everyone was having a great time.  "It felt really good to see smiles on their faces, knowing how much they have been through."   "It is a wonderful thing that the Luxottica Corporation does for the people, their associates, as well as their partners, like REM," Michelle said   Kleargo in Guatemala    Inspired by others' mission stories, Marc Lefebvre decided to take the leap in 2007 when he signed up for a Guatemala trip in April.  "The only hard part was walking up to a group of total strangers gathering at the airport to introduce myself.  After a few awkward moments, I was completely at ease as part of a cohesive team.  "Exhilarating and overwhelming were the words Marc chose to describe his mission.”  A favorite moment occurred on the last day when the team had finished helping all ticketed recipients by about 3:00 p.m.  Instead of breaking early for a beer and shopping, they decided to invite in all unticketed people waiting patiently outside - about 300 more - each of whom they were able to see before closing down the clinic.
